Seat Fares(RMB) 257/-
Hard Sleeper Fares(RMB) 436/452/467/-
Soft Sleeper Fares(RMB) 682/713/-
I want to get the cheapest fare i.e Seat Fares(RMB) 257/- & I dont want the hard & soft sleeper. I have to pay only Seat Fares(RMB) 257/-. am I correct? also tell me the tax & other charges if any.
China Train Guide.Com has the latest train schedule, however, we can’t guarantee ticket prices shown on the website are 100% correct. In another word, you should use ticket price shown on the website for reference only and final price is decided by the train station.
Yep, if what you wanted is a seat, you will be required to pay cost for seat only. Only when you are wanting sleeper ticket, you should pay money that is corresponding with the price of a sleeper ticket.
No other charge is involved.
Question: Travel from Hong Kong to Beijing via Shenzhen
The HS G72 leaves Shenzhen N at 0857, assuming I have a ticket already, at what time should I get to the station? Actually, two questions: where should I buy ticket - online and ticket can be sent to friend’s home in HK, or online and collect ticket from agent’s office in HK, or online and collect ticket at Shenzhen.
By the way, I hold HK permanent resident ID but am in living in England now. Why take bullet train to Beijing, not fly? Now, I’m retired, and I come to China, possibly for the last time. If I fly, I see nothing. I want to see the changes in your great country, since Deng Xiaoping launched the new direction for the economy, which began at the time I was there thirty-two years ago.
It looks to me that I may not have enough time to take first East Rail from Shatin (where I will stay) to LuoHu, transit passport control, take taxi to Shenzhen Notrh and board G72?
I am not sure from online timetable what time is first KCR/MTR train to LoWu/LuoHu, and how long needed to cross the border. Can you advise please.
You have at least 2 options to purchase the ticket.
Option 1: Let your travel agency in Hong Kong to purchase ticket for you. This way, you can have your ticket in pocket before you leave Hong Kong for Shenzhen. This is the easiest way.
Option 2: Let some Chinese friend to reserve ticket on your behalf through www.12306.cn. Advance ticket reservation period is 20 days maximum. To reserve ticket through this website, you should hava a local bank account as the website doesn’t accept credit card from overseas. The website doesn’t provides ticket delivery services and you will have to collect ticket yourself after your arrival to Shenzhen. Related identity card is required to collect ticket. In theory, you can pick up the ticket any time before the train departure even though it’s advised to collect ticket at least 2 hours in advance.
The earlier you arrive the train station, the better. Considering you would not like to spend too much time for waiting, I would suggest you try your best to arrive the train station 2 hours in advane. Reason is that you will have to spend some time to collect the ticket, go through related luggage inspection procedures, find the right waiting hall and etc. The checking-in window usually opens 30 minutes before the train departure and closes 5 minutes before the train departure.
The first Train in Hong Kong leaves Shatin at 05:35am and arrives Luohu at approximately 06:05am. Crossing-the-border procedure may take you another half an hour. You may take 40 minutes to travel from Shenzhen Train Station to Shenzhen North Train Station by taxi. Therefore, the earliest time you can arrive Shenzhen North would be about 7:20am. If you have already had the ticket in your pocket, it’s possible to travel from Hong Kong to Shenzhen North this way to catch the bullet train to Beijing. However, as you can see, this is a bit risk as we didn’t take consideration of unexpected factors.
Question: traveling with a small dog
I would like to know whether it is possible to travel with a dog (in a travel cager) on the train from Shenzhen to Guangzhou.
You will have to transport the dog through the luggage car of the train. It’s not allowed to take the dog on board of the passenger car of the train.
As you can see, you should firstly choose a train with luggage cars and then book your seat on that train. Most high speed bullet trains have no luggage car, therefore, you will have to choose a normal train to transport the pet.
Secondly, you should go to the local animal husbandry and veterinary bureau to apply for the quarantine certificate as well as disinfection certificate for the dog. Period of validity for these 2 certificates is 5 days and fee to apply these two certificates is about CNY 20 Yuan.
Please ready a copy for each of these two certificates as China Railway Express will need it. Once you have put the dog in the travel Cage, you can go to the local branch of China Railway Express Co., Ltd to go through related procedures of escort. The branch of China Railway Express is always very close to the train station. Related procedures may take you 1 hour, therefore, please try to arrive the train station earlier.
Once you haven taken the dog on board of the luggage car, you can then go to the passenger car to take relaxation. You are allowed to pay visits to the dog during the trip. You should return to the luggage car to take your dog 30 minutes before the arrival. The staff of China Railway Express will transport your dog to their business hall. There, you can pick the dog with related certificates.
Question: monthly pass for China train travel
I travel regularly almost every other days and can I have monthly ticket or do something easier that I no need to queue up long line.
I am a foreigner, it is very difficult to get ticket as train selling staff does not speak much English.
Please help and advise. Thanks
There is no monthly pass for China trains. You can purchase your tickets in one time as ticket counter or agency sells tickets for different places. For example, you can purchase Guangzhou to Shenzhen train while you are still in Beijing.
Question: purchasing train ticket for English speakers
My big concern is that since I speak no Chinese and most likely the ticketing agents speak no English that I won’t be able to buy the tickets. I hope one day we can buy tickets over the Internet directly and in advance of our travels. :)
We are smart enough to deal with language barrier.
You can just write down the train you wanted to book, your departure and arrival cities, ticket type, ticket number and ect and show the paper note to the ticket seller. He/she will issue ticket to you as long as there are tickets in the remainning.
Ticket sellers in railway stations have lots experience in dealing with different people from all over the world, they know how to communicate with you. Some of them can speak English too.
Question: payment issue
Would I be correct that they take cash only - no credit cards?
Yep, they accept Renminbi cash only and not allow to pay by credit card.
Question: How to get to Sheraton Shenzhen Futian Hotel from the train station
I will need 2 First class tickets from Humen to SHENZHEN on below train later that afternoon.
We are staying at the Hotel below so I am not sure which Train station to go into in Shenzhen.

Phone: (86)(755) 8383 8888 Fax: (86)(755) 8383 8998

Question: travel with luggage
Hi! In Sept, I plan to travel by train from Guilin to Shenzhen (just for train experienced). I like to know how do I travel with my bag by train? Normal bag that check into flight, and is 20 kg. 3 people, 3 bag each 20kg. (We travel china for holiday for a month; Guilin is our last holiday spot). I am happy to invest to buy hard or soft sleeper as long as I can have my luggage travel with me. Please advice, as I like to travel with train for experience but very worry how to handle my bag.
No worry, you are allowed to travel with bags on the train as long as it doesn’t exceed the weight limitation too much. According to China railway regulation, adult passengers can take their luggage (under 20kg) on board of the train without additional cost. The regulation also requires total length of the luggage (length+width+height) should be under 160cm.
In practice, passenger can even take over-weight luggage on board of the train as long as your luggage is not too heavy or too big. If the luggage is too big, the train luggage rack may not be able to accommodate it. Since you are traveling in sleeper cabin which has more space than that of seat cabin and your luggage doesn’t exceed the luggage limitation too much, I would say that you have nothing to worry about for the future train travel.
Question: seat arrangement
I am a visitor from Saudi Arabia with children. I am now in Ascott Shenzhen. I would like to make reservation for total of 8 in a first class cabin and seat next to each other. Can I arrange for seat and buy tickets from Shenzhen to Guangzhou East station? Is there a family cabin?
There is no dedicated cabin for families; however, tickets are sold in consecutive numbers so that there should be no problem to purchase seats close together for all of your 8 family members.
Question: cost for round trip to travel from Shenzhen to Beijing by train
My fiancé and I are thinking to ride a train from Shenzhen to Beijing. Is that possible and if not what would be close. What’s the cost of tickets in round-way and one-way?
Train tickets in China are sold in fixed price almost all the time of a year, no discount is offered even in the slack season; therefore, cost for round trip would be twice of that of single trip.
